We didn't ask for a border, but a border was made necessary from the chaos in China - the Great Famine in China caused by Mao's Great Leap Forward and latter the Chinese Cultural revolution. The border was our oasis from the radicalisation and massacre brought upon by the authoritarians in Beijing. We want to hold on to our values and our free & open way of life.
We support the democracy in HK & China in these dangerous times. Our research highlights Beijing's distortion of international treaties, rule by law and its security apparatus' remits to damage the liberal democracy we treasure.
Last but not least, we support the powerful citizen, not the powerful state.
