Fun Fact 2
Way smaller school classes than the previous year.
The Year of the snakes comes after the Year of the Dragon. Some very traditional families will believe the dragon is by far the most auspicious year to have a child. Which meant Year 1 classroom sizes suddenly become way smaller than the previous year in Hong Kong.

Fun Fact 3
5 consecutive years without the 30th.
年三十晚 is considered as New Year eve - an evening for family reunion. While the lunar new year calendar existed way before the Qin Dynasty, it was reformed by Germany missionary Johann Adam Schall von Bell. With complex mathematical calculation, the new Lunisolar calendar incorporated different instance of "small months" and "large months" and the result is more accurate prediction of weather for agriculture. According to those calculations, Lunar new year eve kind of disappears for the the next 5 years and reunion will be celebrated on the 29th instead of the 30th.
Wishing you a Happy Lunar New Year and Good Health to your family!
